Mike
Mangione
Mike Mangione (born in Chicago and
now based in Milwaukee) creates
music that emphasizes tone - both
lyrically and instrumentally. Tenebrae,
the latest work by Mangione and
his band has received favorable
press from all corners of the country,
including the honor of being selected
as New York Magazine’s pick
of the week. The album marks

as a search for a subtle, organic,
yet dynamic and expressive sound.

The
Beggarmen
Described in a recent Cedar Rapids
Gazette review as “one
of the best bands in the area,"
The Beggarmen is an Iowa City based
band that performs throughout the
Midwest. The quartet finds its roots
in the traditional music of Ireland
and other Celtic regions, supplementing
the rich variety of traditional
tunes with original compositions.

for fine instrumental work on fiddle,
guitar, tin whistles, mandolin,
pipes and bodhran (the Irish frame
drum), The Beggarmen also lend their
voices to the mix for a varied,
entertaining show. They are renowned
for their fierce playing of reels
