John
Craigie |
For
the past four years, Craigie has
taken his unique musical style across
the western United States. He stays
true to the essence of folk music,
and the traditions of the seminal
writers of our past century. With
timeless melodies and insightful
lyrics—interspersed with witty
storytelling—his songs take
many poetic turns before bringing
you back home. His themes range
from social commentary to personal
empowerment, political satire, and
modern love. A Picnic on the
405 is his latest CD.

Scott
Cochran & Steve Ellis
Eastern Iowan Scott Cochran
will perform his unique brand of
original alt-country-rock. Joining
Scott will be local guitar legend
Steve Ellis, who has co-written
many songs featured on their new
CD CORNFED, released in January.
Influenced by the sound of the late
Gram Parsons' "cosmic American"
blend of country, rock, and soul,
Scott and Steve mix solid roots
rock with old-fashioned American
twang. For lack of a better label,
Scott calls his music Genuine Cornfed
Cosmic Iowa Roots Music. Scott

P.J.
Olsson
Tagged a “neo-troubadour”
by Wired Magazine, singer-songwriter
P.J. Olsson brings his folksy pop
to the stage of The Java House.
Despite the fact that Olsson spent
years building his musical career
in Los Angeles, two years ago he
returned to his roots in Michigan’s
Upper
Peninsula to not only reconnect
with family, but also create the
most successful album of his career.
Olsson was one of the first artists
signed to the re-launched and
re-envisioned
CBS Records on the strength of
